Can you use a film slr lens on a new digital slr camera? I have some old 35 mm slr film lens (nikon) and was wondering if they will fit on a new digital slr camera that's possibly a canon will they fit and will it work? I put the nikon lens on a film pentax camera and it worked but idk if it's different! Help!
I want to buy a new SLR camera, whats the best one for me? Right now I have a Sony SLR (Model: DSC-H5) but I feel I've outgrown it and that it's holding me back, I want to get a much better camera with lots of manual settings and definatly digital. And something that won't bankrupt me neither =]
Why won't my new SLR camera memory slot work? I bought a new Olympus evolt 420 last week and bought a secure digital memory card because that's what looked liked fit. But it didn't so I exchanged it for an xD which is the correct size but now it won't stay in or click in place. I don't think me trying to put the longer sized memory stick in did damage, but maybe I'm wrong. That's why I'm asking someone with more photography knowledge. And the manual is no help at all.
Canon new digital SLR camera with "old" Canon film camera lens? I am thinking of buying the Canon EOS Rebel XS SLR camera, while I have the "old" Canon film camera (AE1) with 3 camera lens: 50mm, medium zoom len and telephoto len. Can I use these three old film camera lens with the new digital camera and, if so, what camera or len features I would lose, if any? Thanks.

More pixels...But I still can't afford the 5D.. does somebody can predict this.:))) thanks
What lens should I purchase for my new Canon Xsi SLR camera? I recently purchased a Canon Xsi DSLR camera. However, I only want to purchase one lens for this camera but I am confused on what to purchase. I was looking at a 18-200 or 18-135 lens but want to get feedback on what to get. I only want one lens! I heard Tamron, Canon and Sigma make good lenses but I am torn. THanks!
I'm looking for a new digital camera, not SLR but the next best thing.? i love SLR cameras, but don't like the bulkiness and hassle of carrying extra lenses with you. I'm looking for a new digital camera, with rechargeable battery, at least 5x zoom, 5+ mega pixels, MASP manual settings as well as automatic point and shoot, and that takes bright clear photos. iv found a few but they take too long to load between photos. can anyone suggest any? looking for about the size of a Kodak EasyShare Z1015 IS, or slightly smaller.
Will my manual SLR lenses fit on a new Digital SLR camera? Has anyone else upgraded recently from a manual SLR to a Digital SLR? I have several really nice lenses (Vivitar and Minolta) for my old manual Minolta SLR. I'm hoping these will fit onto the newer digital models, such as the new Nikons. Does anyone know for sure? It would be nice to not look silly carrying all of my lenses into the store to see if they fit!!
Purchasing a new SLR camera? I am looking to buy a SLR camera. I am pasionate about photography but a beginner when it comes to take pictures. I currently use a Nikon F55, which I love, but I feel it's time to embrace the digital world with a new purchase. My budget is around £500 (or $800). I looked on line and there are a few otpions that I think might suit my requirements. The ones I am considering are : Nikon D3000 Canon 1000D/450D/500D Olympus E-620/E-520 Anything else I am missing? I should consider? Thanks
What lenses will fit my new SLR camera?!? I'm totally new to the whole SLR 35mm camera thing. I just started a photography class. I also just purchased a Minolta Maxxum 5000i camera that comes with a "Sigma Lens". Here's a link to the auction that I won: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300256891749&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123 1, did I get a good deal? 2, If I were to buy other lenses for this camera, what kind of lens would I need to get? What things would I need to know? Thanks!
What should I look for when buying a digital SLR camera? I am looking to buy a digital SLR camera. I had a minolta SLR film camera that died a few years ago and I still have all the parts. Would my quantaray lenses work with a new digital SLR camera? What about the attachable flash? What features should I look for in a new SLR camera?
Are old SLR lenses compatible with new digital camera bodies? I have a bunch of SLR cameras ( 3 - Canon EOS Rebel 2000, Minolta Maxxum 5, Canon EOS Rebel ) and I was wondering if I could use the lenses with digital camera bodies. I tried to sell the cameras but there was no interest and i would hate to just throw them away....
Will old lenses for a film SLR camera work with a new digital SLR camera? My mom has an old Cannon A-1 and an old Cannon EOS film camera, both of these cameras are from the 80s or early 90s and I was wondering if her lenses would work if I bought a new Cannon digital SLR camera such as the Cannon Digital Rebel XT or a Cannon EOS 20D. Or better yet if I got a new D-SLR would these cannon lenses work with any kind of SLR say for example a Sony or a Nikon?
New slr camera for future? For christmas i am Gunna treat myself to a new slr but, what one? i am gunna spend about £450. Ok i only got my slr a few weeks ago, ita a nikon d40. But i feel i need something alot more professonial. Thanks.
Looking for a new camera...an SLR..need opinions? I am looking at cameras because I want a new one for christmas. I need one that takes really good quality pictures. I would like to blow the pictures up and have them still be really good quality. I like to take landscape and macro pictures. I have a canon powershot a560 but I want an SLR camera now. $700 or less (I'll look at anything up to $800 though) Cheaper is better..But I don't want to sacrifice quality. Oh, and I like to take pictures during the winter so I'll need a camera that can withstand low temperatures. Thank You I like both film and digital so either is fine.
Looking for a new D SLR camera? I am really looking to getting into using a Digital SLR camera but I need some suggestions for what to buy as a first time D SLR camera. I have had my eye on the Canon EOS Rebel XSi. I'm not crazy about Nikon or Sony but I am open minded. Any suggestions or tips?
SLR Camera.... New Photographer? Alright. I am starting to really get into photography. I have an olympus right now. It is 12 megapixels and has 10X optical zoom, 5X digital zoom. I really love it and don't get me wrong - it takes amazing pictures for how compact it is. I am wanting to make it my "purse camera". The new one I want to find is something I can use more as a starter camera for serious photography. This is where I need your help. I am hoping to find something that is not too expensive and is user friendly. How does the zoom work on SLR cameras? Is it manual or automatic or is it just preferance? Can you get them with the digital screen or do they all use the viewfinder? I want something that has at least 14 megapixels, and great zoom. I found one that I like, opinions please? What are all the different lenses for? Are there ones I should really have other than the one that comes with it? Finally, what should I look for in a camera so its a step up from the one I have and an all around good camera? What do you look for in your camera, and do you prefer a certain brand? Here is a link to the camera I think I want next: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Canon+-+EOS+Digital+Rebel+T1i+15.1-Megapixel+Digital+SLR+Camera+-+Black/9318954.p?id=1218084392413&skuId=9318954 Here is a link to the camera I have now: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&rlz=1R2ADFA_enUS359&q=olympus+stylus+9000&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=3912488604220734939&ei=ab3zS4OJK4HMsgPnz-jHAw&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCQQ8wIwAA&os=tech-specs
What is the best SLR camera to buy for a new user? I've been looking to update my 5 year fujifilm digital camera. I take a lot of action shots of my kids during sports in daylight and at night and have noticed the night ones are a bit blurry. There is like a haze around their bodies. Would an SLR camera take clearer shots at night. I've had a look online at the nikon d40 and nikon L100. My budget is around $800 australian or cheaper. Would love to hear of any info.
Should I keep my new SLR Camera? I just bought a Sony SLR a200 today. I don't really know a whole lot about these cameras, but I thought this is what I wanted. The more I read about this camera, the more I realize this isn't for me. I have a Sony cyber shot 8.1mp already. I have a two year old son and when I take his picture with the cybershot the are usually blurred. I just thought the shutter speed was too slow and it could not handle my sons constant movement. This made me believe a SLR was the way to go for me. Now I'm not sure, it just seems like too much. It is so big and you have to put your eye to the lens to view. Should I return the SLR and just get a better point and shoot? Or should I keep the SLR? Thanks for all your help! :)
I just got a new SLR camera, the Nikon D60; Any tips/help? This is my first SLR camera and i'm sort of stumped on all of the features. Each time I try to take a picture of myself in portrait it comes out to bright, it does that for some of the other modes as well. Also, when I take pictures of scenery with, say, landscape mode; it doesn't come out as detailed and high quality as I expected it to be. I need help on what the aperature, exposure, ISO, etc mean and how to set them right. In other words: give me all the explanations you have. Thanks.
What do you think of my first images with my new SLR camera? I just purchased an SLR camera (Canon XSi, kit lens) less than a week ago and I was wondering what you think so far. I haven't done any editing on the photos except for making them b&w. They are pics of my daughter in auto mode no flash...I hate flash indoors. Is there anything I can do to get sharper images indoors with while not using flash? Thanks...and please be easy on me, I'm just a beginner. http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt214/jamie1450/JamiesPics137.jpg http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt214/jamie1450/JamiesPics138.jpg http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt214/jamie1450/JamiesPics143.jpg http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt214/jamie1450/JamiesPics148.jpg http://i613.photobucket.com/albums/tt214/jamie1450/JamiesPics165.jpg
New to the Digital SLR camera world and would like some advice.? I am seriously considering the Nikon d60. I am looking for a standard lens of decent quality that will be good for all around things and at a macro lens. What would you suggest? I cannot seem to find any advice on macro lenses. What would be a good size for both? Also, What is the difference between exposure, ISO and aperture, and shutter speed. They all deal with light and I am kind of confused. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!
What is a good AFFORDABLE digital SLR camera? Ok so I want to get a new camera preferably a SLR because I want to have something that can take pictures nice and quick and has good zoom.... (like 10x and up) Any suggestions? I dont want any thousand dollar professional one just a decent one that can take pictures with the click of a button and is fast...
picture quality of a the new sony 12mp point and shoot VS a SLR camera? hello all. I have an important question. I am going to be taking pictures in nightclubs and a lot of times, they dont like SLRs with big flashed being in there so a good point and shoot camera is ideal. my question is: when i see pictures taken in nightclubs with a Digital SLR, they just look so different than a point and shoot camera can take. the pictures look more vivid or something. almost like magazine quality and some of these dslrs are only like 8MP. this is an example of a 8MP DSLR shot:http://www.e-fotoportal.com/photos/268/485-8564_IMG-m.jpg my question is: can a very good digital point and shoot @ 12MP take pictures with this quality or will a DSLR always look different/better? Sony is about to release the DSC-W200 . if you look at this model is 12MP with an ISO up to 6400. will this camera take these kind of quality shots that the example slr picture does or do you need a SLR to get that type of quality. can someone explain? I want the pics to look really vivid.
which is camera is better? a slr digital camera or a non digital slr camera? I am extremly new to the word of photography and want to by a camera. I don't have the space for a non digital camera to develop the pictures but digital slr cameras cost way more. I just want to know which would be better for me to learn and if their is an easier way to get one(i tried ebay). I'm a working student and money is not growing on my trees. also does any one have any recommendations for models/brands?
what is the best way to store an SLR camera and lens? I just got a Nikon D3000. I love it but im really picky about keeping things nice and clean but want the camera to be best protected. im new to the SLR scene, Should i store the camera with the lens in the camera bag attached? separate? Thanks I have caps for everything both the camera and lens. i bought a Nikon camera bag to help protect it. i was just a little worried about traveling with the lens in tacked with the camera. don't wanna break something. thanks for all your input. :)
What kind of digital SLR camera should I buy? I have a Panasonic Lumix. It's a great non-SLR (has a built in Leica lens with 12x zoom), but its missing some things. I want to shoot in raw mode, and also would like to get something with rear curtain flash, fill flash, interchangeable lenses, and stuff of that sort. In other words, I want a digital SLR, but I don't know what kind. So, would be a good idea to buy a brand new low end model, like an Olympus E-500 or Nikon D-40, or a last generation top of the line, like an old Nikon D1-H, or Fujifilm S1? I am learning photography, but want to someday be very good at it (as in possibly even professionally good). I don't want a camera that will hold me and my creativity back. Also, I don't think megapixels are a huge deal, as long as I can get at least 1600-1200 photos. I mostly do online stuff, and would only usually go for a 5x7 if I printed anything out. This would be for learning purposes only. Thank you beforehand for all the great answers. 8*) I would also like a camera that can shoot up to 1600 ISO...
Is there a way to use Film SLR lenses on a Digital SLR camera? I recently got a Digital SLR camera (Canon Rebel XT) and my dad has several good lenses for an older film-based SLR camera. The lenses are different in the fact that the old ones have 3 "blade" type metal pieces at the bottom instead of the relatively flat new lens. Is there something I can get to use the old lenses on my new camera? I really want to use that lens Thanks guys, will do a little more research and see if there is an adapter available.
Is it a good idea to buy a 6 MP used canon digital SLR camera? I am an amateur photographer and shoot only occasionally. I don't want to invest too much money in a new digital SLR, so i thought a used Canon DSLR might be a good alternative. The problem is, that used cameras have much lower megapixels than new ones. Will I get reasonable quality with a 6 MP camera (low noise in night shots, enough details when printing 4"X6" 5"X7" photos)?
What digital slr camera is best for amateur photographers? I really want a digital slr camera, but I don't want to spend a fortune, I've been looking at used ones, and refurbished but they're all so expensive! I've been manly looking at getting a canon EOS rebel xs. Is that a decent camera? I currently have a canon regular digital camera and I love it.
What is the best SLR camera for a newbie? I am planning on getting the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi.I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this camera or if there is a better slr camera out there? I mainly want something that is easy to navigate because its my first time using a high quality camera.
What is a good Slr camera for a starting photographer? Well, I'm planning on getting a job and saving money to buy me my first Slr Camera. I'm looking for one around the 500 area. What would you recommend being a good camera? I would like a camera to shoot micro shoots, and nature.
What is the cheapest way to get a digital SLR camera? And don't say steal it! I am a student photographer, and I used a standard canon digital camera, but I wan't something with more optical zoom that can be digital. I already have a canon film slr that my mom used to have, and frankly it is quite old and a hassle to carry around. I decided it might be best if I went ahead and invested in an slr, but i know those are extremely pricey! So, do you know where the best deals are for slr cameras, both on and offline? Or, if not, do you know what the best slr STYLED digital cameras are that are out there? Thank you so much!
What is a good digital SLR camera to buy for an amateur photographer? I want to upgrade to a digital camera and I was wondering what would be a good one to go with for an amateur photographer. I like the Cannon Rebel line of cameras but I was wondering what a more affordable option might be. What are your thoughts on the Pentax K100d. I learned on a Pentax K1000 and I read that most of the older lenses will fit the Pentax digital SLR cameras.
What is the best slr camera on the market? I am looking to buy a digital slr camera. I want a good quality, lightweight camera that produces great pictures. In your opinion, whats the best out there that is cost effective? is canon d40 a good deal?
Where's the cheapest place to buy a new digital SLR camera? Is this site legit? https://www.techondigital.com/product.asp?productid=nkd40&tab=1 I hear the Nikon D40 is a great entry-level SLR, which would be good for me because I'm a complete beginner. At Circuit City this camera is on sale for $449, but the above website is selling what looks like the exact same product for $279 plus shipping. Am I missing something here? It looks too good to be true. Anyone have experience with this site or knowledge about ordering cameras online? The site claims that all cameras are brand new. Is it trustworthy? Ok, I figured out why it's cheaper there... I didn't notice before that it was only the lens kit (not including the body)... However, other sited like this have cheap prices: http://www.fotoconnection.com/p56941-nikon-d40-slr-digital-camera-kit-18-55mm-lens.html What about this one?
i want to buy a new digital slr camera!!? im moving to colorado in may to work on a ranch for the summer, this is a perfect oppurtunity for me to take some amazing pictures. im willing to spend up to 1200$ please help me decide on a great camera to buy!
What kind of slr camera is good for me? I want an slr camera, not just a digital one. Im an amature so I want something that is good to start off with and not too expensive. Im into photo journals. I wouldnt mind having to do some homework to figure out how every thing on the camera works.
What is a Digital SLR Camera and a compact digital with overrides? I'm going to take a basic photography class at the local college and the class requires a SLR or compact digital with overrides. How do I know if my camera has these features. I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 digital camera that was purchased in 2005. The camera has optical image stabilization, which alleviates camera shake problems. The camera lacks manual control over shutter speed and aperture and has no optical viewfinder. This is all I know about the camera.
What SLR camera choice should I ask for ? I don''t really have any ideas for what I'm going to ask for for christmas so I am asking for a camera. I've always wanted a really good camera, preferably an SLR. I don't know what model or brand though. I don't want an extremely complicated camera, but I also do not want one for beginners. I am pretty technologically savvy, but I still want to just be able to pick up my camera and take a picture. I am looking for a reasonable priced camera. Any help?
What kind of digital SLR camera is best for beginners? I've taken a recent interest in photography - I've always taken pictures with a normal digital point and shoot camera, but I really really want a beginner SLR camera, which can take really nice pictures but is reasonably priced. I don't know ANYTHING about SLR cameras, but the ones I've looked at so far are the Nikon D40, and the Canon Rebel, and the Pentax K110.... any advice?
What is a good digital SLR camera for beginners? I would like buy a digital SLR camera for my husband for Christmas this year. I would like to spend less than $700 or not much more. I'm not sure which camera would be best suited for us. At Best Buy, the salesman recommended the Nikon SLR D40 - should I be concerned that it's only 6 megapixles? What camera would you recommend I get? (If it would be super if you could provide a link to the camera you recommend!) Thanks!
What is a good Digital SLR camera to start photography ? I've recently just taken an interest in photography and want to pursue it as a hobby. I'm wondering what's a good starting Digital SLR camera? I know a friend whose into photography but his camera is like 1200$, and that's without adding all his lenses and accessories...
How do you take professional quality photos with SLR camera? Hi I've recently bought a Nikon D80 Camera. I'm just wonder what settings do people use to take high quality professional looking photos? I understand a lot of the professional photos we see on the interent or magazines are edited by photoshop, but how to do they take good photos for editing with SLR cameras? Thanks in advance!
What is a good, but inexpensive Digital SLR Camera to buy for someone that has never used an SLR before? I really would love to upgrade to an SLR camera from my point and shoot. I am an avid scrapbooker and I love to get shots of random things. I am expecting in November and we have some home improvement things that need to happen before the baby is born, so price will be a factor. I currently have a Kodak Z712, so I would love to have something that has a higher zoom than what I am currently using! Thanks so much for any information.
What slr camera is considered a professional ? I've been reading lately some people comments about some camera, saying that a canon Rebel XT is good for amateurs who's starting in photograph, the same with the Rebel XTI and some more and this has made me wondering. What exactly would be a professional slr camera then? because i thought the XT and XTI was considered one or is it simply these people ignorance. That it is not true.
Any recommendations for a cheap descent SLR camera? I would like to purchase a digital SLR camera for practicing photography but I am on a really tight budget. At the same time I don't want to waste my money on something that is half-ass. Does anyone have any suggestions for brands and models I should look for? I want to use it primarily for outdoor scenic shots of the city during the day and night.
what would be a good starter digital slr camera for me? i only know a little and i want to expand my knowledge in cameras. what would be a good starting digital slr camera for me? what do you guys think of the nikon d-40? i want something easy and simple yet giving me full controls. also how do you determine how much zoom the lense can do?
is there an slr camera that is digital and uses film? hi ^^ i started a photography class and well the teacher just said buy a 55mm slr camera. she did give us any guidlines or anything. for the class we are going to be working in the darekroom, but i was wondering what would happen if i didnt have access to a darkroom. if i bought a camera that only used film it would be kind of pointless wouldnt it? idk anything about slr cameras so correct me if i am wrong. is there a camera that is both digital and uses film? if so how much would one cost? erm yah lol 35mm. can a digital camera be used in the darkroom?
