Camera New

When do you know that it is time to get a new memory card for your camera?

I have a Kodak EasyShare camera and the memory card until now use to let me record only 6 minutes of video. Now it will only let me record 2 minutes. I have deleted everything off the card but still that didn't work. Do I need a new memory card?

  1. Instead of just deleting everything, put the card in the camera and do a full reformat. Also, are you positive you're using the same video quality mode that you were before? If you've increased the quality, you'll get less space. Either way, there's no reason why a card should just run out of space permantly; you should always be able to store the same amount of information on it as the day you purchased it. I have memory cards (no-names as well) that I've been using for seven years now without a single problem. Try a reformat and check your quality settings - good luck!
  2. no, i don't think you need a new one. As the other person said, just format the card using your camera. Should be fine after that. Get a bigger card if you can only record short videos. Sounds like you have a tiny storage card.
