- Consumer grade point and shoot cameras typically have a resolution of 7 or 8 megapixels. That really is all you should need. An SLR is only for enthusiasts.
- 8 is like the perfect amount. and u can probably get a great camera with 8 megapixels for an affordable price.
- depends really. if your looking for a standard digital camera then something around the 5-6 megapixel mark these days. for decent everyday/holiday snapshots. however if your looking for a more professional finish to your photos and don't mind splashing a bit of cash then buy an SLR camera, then we're talking 10 megapixels, maybe even higher. the megapixels are what you pay for. hope this helps. good luck.
- IF you can hold on for a year or two,you might get a better one,if not then as suggested 8 is pretty good,i have afew all below 4 megapix in a span of few years ,collecting dust for those not inuse.
- Hmm..I'd have to say that nowadays 7 is about average, but 8 is good. anything above that is excellent. Nothing below 5 though. I have a 4 megapixel camera and it takes quite blurry pictures. I am seeking a new, better one.
- I have a 10,2 Nikon SLR camera and an old 4,0 Canon. When just taking regular pictures I can use both and get very good pictures. But when you want bigger pictures you need more MP. I have enlarged many pictures taken with my 4,0 MP camera, and they're very good actually! And that camera is about 5 years old. If I was you I would go with 7-8 MP. The camera will be afordable plus you should be able to get very nice pictures, also if you want to enlarge some of them.
