Camera New

I am looking for a new digital camera that is good for taking pictures of kids, any suggestions?

I would like a compact camera that is 250 dollars or less. I have a very fast 2 year old and I always feel like I miss my perfect shot because my camera is taking too long between pics. If anyone has a good idea for a new camera I will take any suggestions. Thanks.

2. I'm not sure there is a camera in that price range that will do. Older cameras wasted your time while saving an image to a memory card, and cheap cameras today may still suffer the same problem. Beyond that, there are a few things a camera has to do when you press the button: 1) calculate exposure settings 2) focus Focusing is usually the weak point when it comes to getting a quick snapshot. A better camera helps, or even finding a camera that has manual focus when the situation makes it appropriate. Check http://dpreview.com/. They have camera speed tests that will tell you how much of a delay there is from pressing the button to taking the picture. I think you'll have to spend at least $400 to be happy, though. I like the Panasonic DMC-LX3, but you may not. One more tip: look for the camera with the least number of pixels. The more megapixels, the noisier and uglier the image, particularly at high ISO settings needed to capture fast moving children indoors without a flash.
