Camera New

Looking for a new camera...an SLR..need opinions?

I am looking at cameras because I want a new one for christmas. I need one that takes really good quality pictures. I would like to blow the pictures up and have them still be really good quality. I like to take landscape and macro pictures. I have a canon powershot a560 but I want an SLR camera now. $700 or less (I'll look at anything up to $800 though) Cheaper is better..But I don't want to sacrifice quality. Oh, and I like to take pictures during the winter so I'll need a camera that can withstand low temperatures. Thank You I like both film and digital so either is fine.

  1. You want a film SLR or a digital? DSLRs are coming down in price majorly this season. I shoot with a Nikon D40x, which is a great camera with easy to use features, and easily accessible manual controls if you're into using them. They accept a wide variety of lenses, and you can typically find a package deal with a case, a 35mm lens, and a 55 mm zoom for around that price range.
  2. I think this would help you.. This came with a subscription mail from ZDNet, and I generally believe the people there when it comes to techy stuff .. http://blogs.zdnet.com/digitalcameras/?p=366
