How do I hook my new camcorder to my computer?

I bought a new canon mini camcorder and I want to upload my videos from it to my computer. Trouble is, the cord that connects it to the computer is not a usb connection. It's something called firefly which my computer does not have. How can I upload my vids to my computer? So far, I can only watch them on a tv. Sorry, I meant firewire, not firefly! lol

1. what you have is good old IEEE 1394, or FIREWIRE. you actually need a firewire card to connect your camera. its better for video though, so it is recommended
2. You need to go to CompUSA, Best Buy, Circuit City or Wal Mart and buy a FireWire PCI card and install it in the computer. $25
