What to look for when buying a new camcorder????

Im intrested in buying a new camcorder, i have never owned one before. what do i want to look for when buying a camcorder.As far as quality and format is concerned. i would like to spend under 375, but want a good quality camcorder. Any suggestions. thank you

for camcorder ... look for these basic things.. 1. recording media. I personally prefer DV Cassette. as it is more reliable media than DVD & Hard Disk. 2. Size. now days almost all cameras are being amaller and smaller. 3. check out optical zoom. more is better. but dont ever think about digital zoom...... as it reduces quality. 4. resolution... In camcorder if you want to take good quality photographs then go for stll resolution higher than 2MegaPixel. This resolution dosent improves video quality. 5. If you want higher video quality then go for 3CCD Cameras. which generally gives you better results than norml cameras..... these are now days available in very low rates.. try to get Panasonic NV GS 320...... Digital tape or fire wire hard rive hookup... Not Sony disc as they suck... and recording time (good battery)... Do all special effect BS post filming....
make sure you buy a mini dv ...not the DVD or HD
